June 21st Reading Starts
Lee is a South Korean humanities scholar, writer, and lecturer. Strong intellectual curiosity and aspiration gave birth to many writings and disciples. This book, "The Last Class," is a book that records reporter Kim Ji-soo's interview with Lee Eo-ryeong every Tuesday. Lee o-young was born in 1934, and is currently fighting cancer, and is virtually sentenced to a time limit and is watching the way to death.
Lee o-young, the intellect of the times, now emphasizes that the death is not the end, but a new birth. Earlier, looking at the empty cup, the cup said that our body, the liquid in it, was our mind, and the invisible space extending from the empty space to the outside was our soul. The reason why the liquid in the cup is our heart is because we can put anything in the cup. It's as if our hearts are suddenly gripped by anger and sometimes calm, because we can put wine, water, or oil in a cup.
The cancer in his body has spread from place to place, and now he says surgery only means extending his life a little more. He said he would spend more time observing himself dying because death is not the end but the birth.
p.s I just Googled his name and he died last February. I pray for your repose.
